How Does Fibre To The Premises Work?

In the graphic above, you will see an example of our modern business connection, Fibre To The Premises (FTTP). Below you will see a graphic of Fibre To The Cabinet (FTTC). These lines are massively limited due to the copper cabling that runs from the green cabinet at the end of the road to the premises.

CTECH has access to a backbone fibre from your local telephone exchange to a green cabinet near to you. From the green cabinet, we replace the existing copper telephone line that runs straight to your office with a new fibre optic, supercharging your broadband to speeds you choose (up to 10GB!). FTTP is a technology that uses optical fibre cables to connect the internet service provider’s network to the end-user’s premises, such as homes or businesses. FTTP offers many benefits over traditional copper-based broadband technologies.

Some of these benefits are:

  1. Faster speeds: Our fibre can provide speeds of up to 900 Mbps, depending on the service plan and the equipment used. This means that you can enjoy seamless online experiences, such as video conferencing, cloud computing, and more.
  2. Higher reliability: FTTP is less prone to interference or damage from environmental factors, such as weather, noise, or electromagnetic interference. This means that your business can expect consistent and stable internet service, with fewer outages or slowdowns.
  3. Future-proof: FTTP is a scalable and flexible technology that can accommodate the growing demand for bandwidth and new applications in the future. As the fibre optic cables have unlimited capacity, you can easily upgrade your network without having to replace the infrastructure.
  4. Lower maintenance costs: FTTP requires less maintenance than copper-based broadband technologies, as fibre optic cables are more durable and less likely to corrode or break. This means that you can save on operational expenses.
